James Dowson is delighted to announce the launch of The DMC Advantage, a UK Sales and Marketing company for worldwide DMCs. After 19 years in the travel industry and 12 years solely focused on the meetings and events market, James is excited by the new challenge of selling hand-picked, boutique DMCs which reflect his own ethos of customer service with a friendly attitude.
James started out in 1996 at Trailfinders followed by 4 years with Emirates Airline from 2001-5. There followed a period at Sofitel Hotels as Senior Sales Manager MICE and for the last 8 years James has been at MM and Company. “While at MM and Company I learnt a huge amount from David Marks whose vast knowledge of the sector has been enlightening. I have been privileged to represent many excellent Destination Management Companies.”
It is James’s intention to ensure that he maintains his commitment to serving the meetings and events market by partnering only the very best, service-focussed DMCs he knows. He will work with the DMCs he represents to enable them to price sensitively and competitively while striving for the most creative and individual program. James acknowledges that a beautiful proposal is worthless without honest opinions from the DMCs to make sure it is right for their group. “I believe that through my deep understanding of the needs of UK events planners I can influence my partners to create effectively, honing their offering correctly and getting the best from the destination.
