PRIVACY POLICY

We collect certain information or data about you when you sign-up to our newsletter or browse our website.

We collect:

  • questions, queries or feedback you leave, including your email address if you contact DMC Advantage
  • your email address and subscription preferences when you sign up to our mailing list, and how you use our emails – for example whether you open them and which links you click on
  • your IP address, and details of which version of web browser you used
  • information on how you use the site, using cookies, Facebook Pixels and page tagging techniques

This data can be viewed by authorised people on the DMC Advantage team to:

  • improve the site by monitoring how you use it
  • respond to any feedback you send us if you’ve asked us to

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED

DMC Advantage manages all of our email communication via Constant Contact, our third-party email provider for the purposes of creating, adding to and maintaining our mailing lists which we use to communicate with members about upcoming events, past events and DMC Advantage news.

By submitting your personal data, you agree to this.

WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO OUR EMAIL MAILING LIST

We use a third-party email service, Constant Contact, to manage our regular email communications to members and Constant Contact act as a data-processor on behalf of DMC Advantage.

Constant Contact is a US company and has staff based outside the EEA, and stores your data in the US. Constant Contact is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield framework. When you sign up to our email alerts, you agree to your data being stored in this way.

As a data processor on behalf of DMC Advantage, Constant Contact will use your information to send you email alerts if you request them. Here, you can find out more about how Constant Contact collects and stores your information.

KEEPING YOUR DATA SECURE

Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data while it’s in transit, no data transmitted over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% safe and DMC Advantage do not accept liability for any data in transit and any data you send is at your own risk.

We take reasonable steps to secure your Personal Data and have operational procedures and security features in place to keep your data secure once we receive it.

All data collected via the DMC Advantage website is stored in a secure database hosted by Constant Contact, who provide excellent physical and cyber security protection to protect their customer’s data.

DISCLOSING YOUR INFORMATION

We may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so, or if we have to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements. This includes exchanging information with other government departments for legal reasons.

We won’t share your information with any other organisations for marketing, market research or commercial purposes, and we don’t pass on your details to other websites.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can find out what information we hold about you, and ask us by email not to use any of the information we collect.

Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you (the data subject) have several rights in respect of your data and how DMC Advantage processes it:

You have the right to request whether or not your personal data is being processed by DMC Advantage.

If your personal data is being processed you have the right to access this data and the following information:

  2. The categories of personal data concerned
  3. The recipients or categories of recipient to whom the personal data has been or will be disclosed
  4. The envisaged period for which the personal data will be stored
  5. If your personal data has not been collected directly from you, the source
  6. The existence of any automated decision-making or profiling and information about the logic involved
  7. The appropriate safeguards in place where your data is transferred to any third country

You also have the right to have any inaccurate data corrected, or incomplete data completed. You also have a right to obtain a copy of any incomplete or inaccurate data.

You have the right to request that DMC Advantage ceases to process your data and the “right to be forgotten” where, upon your request, DMC Advantage will delete all personal data held about you.

You also have the right to request that DMC Advantage restricts the processing of your data and the right to object, at any time, to the use of your data for direct marketing purposes or profiling.

If you’ve signed up for email alerts, you can unsubscribe or change your settings at any time. Alternatively you may contact the DMC Advantage team via email to request that you are unsubscribed, or to exercise any of your rights listed above.

DMC Advantage does not undertake any automated decision making. All events are prioritised on a first-come, first-served basis. If at any point in the future DMC Advantage engages in automated decision making you have the right to object to automated decisioning and have your data processed manually.
