Since my first visit to Norway almost 20 years ago I have had a love affair with the country. I must admit that is true of many of the destinations I have visited and actively sell where we have DMC partners, but Norway is just a bit different.
I am an unashamed lover of the outdoors, staying active, and I don’t mind a bit of cold. I adore big landscapes and I applaud countries who are making giant leaps towards a sustainable future. All of which is Norway.
I have stayed in Oslo, had a summer holiday on the coast, and skied in the deserted mountains. I’ve had an elk leap over the road in front of my car (I thought it was a horse, it was ma-hoo-sive!). The people are delightful, food is interesting (check out Martin Compston on BBC Iplayer “Norwegian Fling”, a great intro to the country, he eats a sheeps head…hmmmm), they are in touch with their roots and the land. And the exchange rate is about as good as it has ever been.
All this means I am super excited that our fabulous colleagues at BDP Next have opened a Norway office, bringing their gracious, creative handling of all events to Oslo and beyond.
